Cookie Policy

1. What this covers
This page lists the cookies and similar technologies (such as localStorage) used by the Scouti dashboard, the marketing site, and the chat widget. For a broader description of how we handle personal data, see the Privacy Policy.
2. Categories we use
- Essential. Required for the Service to function — for example, the cookies that keep you signed in. Disabling these will break sign-in and other core features.
- Functional. Used to remember your preferences, such as which organization you last viewed in the dashboard.
- Analytics. Used in aggregate, with no advertising identifiers, to understand how the marketing site is used.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell personal data.
3. Specific items we set
Dashboard & marketing site
- Supabase auth session cookies. Set after sign-in to keep your browser authenticated against our backend (essential).
- Vercel Analytics script. The marketing site embeds the Vercel Web Analytics script for aggregate visit counts. It does not set tracking cookies and does not collect personal identifiers.
Widget
- Widget session storage (localStorage). The widget writes a few entries on its own domain — a small config entry plus one entry per session slot — to keep a stable session across page loads and remember the in-progress conversation and panel state, so consecutive visits show as one conversation rather than disconnected ones. These hold session and view state, the session identifier(s), and any user identifier the embedding site chooses to pass in (which may be personal data, depending on what the site sends). They also briefly hold a queue of the interaction & diagnostic events described in the Privacy Policy until those have been sent to our backend.
- Cloudflare Turnstile cookies. When the widget runs on
scouti.chat, Cloudflare may set a short-lived cookie to remember that a bot challenge has been solved. Required to deliver the challenge.
4. Third-party cookies
Some of our processors may set their own cookies as part of delivering their services to us — for example, Stripe sets cookies during checkout to prevent fraud, and Cloudflare may set security cookies. These are listed in their own cookie policies; we list the providers in the Privacy Policy.
5. How to manage cookies
Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies through their settings menu (look for "Privacy" or "Cookies"). You can also clear the widget's localStorage entry from the same menu — the next visit will start a fresh session.
Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from signing in to the dashboard.
6. Changes & contact
We will update this page if we add new categories of cookies or change processors. For questions, email hello@scouti.chat.
